Our Core Values

The educational philosophy of CHS is based on God’s truth as revealed by the Holy Spirit in God’s Word, the Bible, and in creation. We don’t avoid teaching about the world, but we challenge pupils to see the world through the lens of the word of God: created perfectly, damaged by sin, and redeemed by Christ. The Bible is also used to learn skills for restoring every aspect of a fallen world— starting with our minds, our hearts, our relationships, our moral choices, and our worship, but extending to the needs of those around us and to the earth itself. Pupils, whether Christian or not, are taught to use the Bible as a powerful tool to work towards a better world. This instruction extends to co-curricular and outside-of-class activities.

We are committed to educating the whole child learner, spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally and physically. We look for every child’s individual talents and teaches our pupils to honor and use the gifts God has given them. We challenge our pupils to strive for the highest potential within their gifts and abilities; we want them to develop strong character and leadership qualities, to learn to live in a global community, to serve others, and to accept responsibility for their choices and actions.

Our personalized pupil-centered leadership infused curriculum allows pupils to pursue their natural interests by connecting learning to real-life experiences. Our curriculum emphasizes hands-on exploration, collaboration, and choice which is designed to motivate our child learners by tapping their natural curiosity and sense of wonder our child learner’s managers know requirement to quality work and offered project-based learning.

CHS gives child learners the best to thrive with joyful and engaging learning in our safe community.

A hallmark of Cypress Hillside School is our close-knit community where every  pupil is known by name and valued.

While most of us whole-heartedly endorse character as critical to leadership. The old expression that actions speak louder than words is very true when it comes to character traits. Character is at the core of our authenticity, as well as our power—our individual power, relational power, and contributory power. The characteristics of the Christian ethos such as trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, and Caring with outcome of honesty, generosity, selflessness, loyalty, and justice will find expression in the life of the school. In particular, such values underpin the aims, objectives, shared values, policies, and rules, codes of conduct, rewards and sanctions of the school. We seek and build in our pupil characters of;

Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we only have the virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.” Aristotle

We strive for excellence in our academics and service out of a desire to do all to please God. We will persistently create better ways of doing the things we do. We will not rest on our accomplishments, but will rather build on them in our personal and professional journey to be the best we can be and set new standards. We will expect more of ourselves than our clients do. We will endeavor to exceed expectations in every area.  For us, excellence in the little things always adds up to excellence in the big things – and the diametric is also true.

We are a global community welcoming families from different countries. Our high standards for academics and behavior creates a courteous and respectful learning environment that values the rights of every member of our community. We are proudly purposefully diversified and globally positioned.

Past performance is not only a guide to future performance. We prepare adequately to ensure our pupils always find themselves on the right path in their future endeavor. We equip our pupils for tomorrow. Our Future directness value is the extent to which we think about the future, anticipates future consequences, and plans ahead before acting for positive advancement of all our pupils.
